Well, the banks got what they wanted. Bailouts but looks like the little people get screwed again. I wish the best of luck for you and wifey in California. The economy isn't much better across the country but we all do what we have to to survive and get through life. We all do what we have to survive this age and time. It isn't easy, has never been easy. jFor those who think that during the war and busting their butts for a $1.00 and hour or .50 cents was a great life, I am glad for you. Even minimum wage isn't what it is cracked up to be now adays. Banks want your money. They set the limits for people to barely make payments. We are in the process of trying to buy a place but let me tell you... the more people who look into your credit, the lower one's score gets. It shouldn't be that easy for credit card companies to look into people's credit. Afterall, we have to pay to our own since most places only allow one to look into their own credit for free once a year...Yet banks can do it anytime, and offer you credit cards, pre-loan approvals, etc. Makes one sick that there is no control over who can view your scores, and why banks would rather charge outragious fees, credit lines with high per centages and such. They make it impossible to follow the American dream- if there is one anymore....Just hope that they don't screw themselves again, and need another bailout. Or you might hear my protest from all across the country since I won't stand in line to hand my hard earned money to them. They can faulter without my taxes bailing them out!

I think President Obama is trying to do the best he can with what previous Presidents have left him, not just Republican but democrates as well. He has stood up to the plate and is trying to unite us all. He has a big responsibilty to stand up to. He has decisions that many of us can just imagine. Those who oppose the change are either idiots who want to have decisions and who won't agree unless it is beneficial to them or they only think of themselves not the people who pay them, elect them or whom they should be representing. He wants what many of us do. But when he is opposed by those who think they know best, it is difficult for him to adjust and move foreward. I think his view are fresh, honest, and not of theME mentality. He wants jobs to be brought forth, he wants a better economy, he wants to help the little people, and he knows from experience what it is like. This country needs change. We need more jobs, better health care, better education, and training. Politicians want what they want and will lie to get it. President Obama has called these people out, confronted them in the eyes of America and should. He is one man who could make the difference if given the chance without stockades of stubborness, greed and oppositions from all political parties. And this is coming from a former Republican who has changed her mind from what I have seen since Obama has come into the picture. Congressmen should have terms set just like everyone. They aren't doing what they have to to benefit the people with contengenies and such. We need hope and we need new blood that cares about the American people and not will benefit their wallets!

I travel 90 miles five days a week. Four days aweek for my job, and the fifth for groceries for the week and to get propane to cook with. Our only source of heat here is a wood stove which means chopping and hauling it. If the weather is bad like this week, we lose out on work. Our roads here are not paved. We live in a small community in New Mexico. The only place we could afford to rent is out in the boonies, where things haven't changed in almost a hundred years, where a way of live is minimal. It bites my behind that people think jobs are readily available anywhere and everywhere. If an opening becomes available, even at the nearest Family Dollar, it is who you know who comes first. Hell with if you qualify or not, if you need the work or not, if you are more reliable or not. People who are born with privalges, those who think those of us without work of even work part-time can do better, are not living pay check to paycheck, are not on assistance because benefits have run out, are not having to find the gas to drive as far as I do to keep a job, are living in cities where they can walk just minutes to astore, are in no position to judge those of us who are hard working, working for a minimum wage that barely pay electricity let alone groceries, and those who have been looking for work where thousands apply for one job opening, with no guarantees of getting it. Who is taking care of us who are left standing alone and forgotten in a society where life isn't a convenience?

To relocate to another townor city or state for that matter, takes time, takes money and God forbid, if you break down as we did a few times moving cross country. then there is the expence of meals, and hotels, and moving in with family, and having to pay your own way even if you stay with family, there are expences.... Money isn't available to all. Not everyone is wellfare qualified, and even then state organizations are not so willing to help.
Politicians try to smooth the statistics and they tell some what they want to hear. Others are retired bumpkins who think just because when they use to work, it is still the same- which anyone who has been looking for work, knows otherwise. It isn't easy and all I can say to those who are quick to judge those of us who work part-time, who are unemployed or barely making ends meet, even with a full time job, living pay check to paycheck, not because they are over spending but because they don't make a decent wage in today's economy...Kiss my behind! Be lucky you either have a job or lucky enough to own the home you have. Saving money isn't what it use to be!!!!Wake up and smell the coffee. Judge not, unless you want to be judged and hope to God you are never in the position that millions of people are!

as someone who has apart time job and probably not for long since I am now snowed in, it hasn't been easy. Lay-offs even in the hotel business is something that is common now adays. Not many people are traveling because they just can't afford it. In the small town where I work, we are lucky to have twenty people in house now. People who gripe about people being lazy have no clue what it is like in the job market. I was unemployed and had to relocate just to find work. I just don't understand how people cannot comprehend the extention of the market. For one thing, statitics only show those getting unemployment benefits, not the ones whose benefits have run out. It is beyond me how they can run their mouths and can't understand that the market is not what it use to be.

Well, yes, it has been quite a year. Layoffs, Healthcare reforms, applications of all kinds, and still some of us have hope for a better tomorrow. To 2010, I say let us unify ourselves, and quit pointing fingers and let's get something donw that will satisfy both political parties, and most of all the American people! It would be nice if we could support our President, no matter what side, support our troops and most of all be able to support our families! I hope all has a wonderful New Year! This is the year, we may start see the change for a better America!

As a former Republician...I really feel that Obama is really trying to unify this country. He took on a deficit from prior Presidents, both Republician and democratic. He has called out those in both parties about dog earing items that neither matter or did, and he has been honest throughout his speeches about trying to help. Yes, It will not happen over night. With any change, it takes time, and a lot of patience. He has tried, has been honest, and he listens. People can complain, they can bitch and they cry about this or that. Congressmen, from both sides, have their own agendas. They want their own greeds and their own limits. But they work for the American people, and therefore, should put the needs of the people before their own limits. Corporations have been called out, even those in the position to make this change possible. What they are angry about is that they have been recognized, and Obama won't tolerate them trying to snow ball those who want the change, whether in healthcare or employment,etc.. I personally wouldn't the President's position but I do admire what he has tried to do and I wish him the best. This country as been going down hill for some time. It is time to renew it's values, it's people and be responsible without blaming who is at fault. In reality, it has been a long time coming!
