Don’t hold back, tell us how you really feel!

There is a letter that has been making the rounds on the Internet as of late that found it’s way into Wifey’s e-mail box. It is a letter that is addressed to President Obama, and as you can see, it is from a “dissatisfied customer.” Now I know that the commentary that I make during the course of the letter might offend and probably piss some of my readers off, but I ask you to read the whole thing through because there is a payoff at the end which will put the whole matter into perspective. With that, here is the letter and my running commentary…

Mr. Obama:

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.

Oh please! His conduct overseas is a perfect example of how the leader of the Free World is supposed to behave. The last administration took a lot of time and energy in burning a lot of bridges and it is going to take time to mend them – and mend them we must because we will need some help if we are to survive a world economic crisis and capture or kill Bin Laden, not mention keep the Taliban from getting it’s hands on Pakistan’s Nuclear Weapons. The only reason you feel he is inadequate is because he actually has a vocabulary and knows how to use it!

You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America. You are responsible to the citizens of the United States. You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth.

This isn’t about appeasement this is about re-establishing diplomatic relations that were damaged by the previous administration. He has hardly abdicated the responsibilities of the Office of President, he is fulfilling them – which is a lot more than can be said about his predecessor. And by the way, as we are the last Super-Power left on Earth he does have a responsibility to all of the peoples of the Earth to make sure that terrorists do not get their hands on WMD’s, and for that he, and we, will need help.

I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe? Are you brain dead? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about? Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century?

Considering how arrogant the last office holder and his puppet masters were towards the rest of the world it is unfortunate that he has to go around and apologize for their behavior. But when a child misbehaves and throws a temper tantrum and starts making a mess of things, sometimes all you can do is apologize for their behavior. And while some Neo-Conservatives love to trot out how we saved Europe’s ass in WWI and WWII, they seem to forget early 21st-Century history when President Bush had the support of every European nation after 9/11 only to spit in their faces when they wouldn’t buy into his lies for the invasion of Iraq.

Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States? This country was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and the principles governing this country, at least until you came along, come directly from this heritage. Do you not understand this?

Do you not understand that the Founding Fathers did not want organized Religion anywhere near our Constitution, which was why The 1st Amendment states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof”meaning that anyone could practice whatever religion they believed in without fear or prejudice? Do you not understand that most of our Founding Fathers were Deists and did not believe in your Fundamentalist Christian view of the world and thought that it was toxic? Do you not understand that “Judeo-Christian values” as you put it were deemed to be sacrilege by the first settlers on these shores who happened to be Puritans? Do you not understand that it is their values instead of the “Judeo-Christian value” of “love thy neighbor” that many “Sunday Morning Christians” like yourself embrace instead of a message of hope, love and charity?

Your bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia is an affront to all Americans. Our President does not bow down to anyone, let alone the king of Saudi Arabia. You don’t show Great Britain, our20best and one of our oldest allies, the respect they deserve yet you bow down to the king of Saudi Arabia. How dare you, sir! How dare you!

What, are you trying to do your Keith Olbermann impression now? Hey, he only bowed to the Saudi king, he didn’t kiss his ass like President Bush did for eight years!

You can’t find the time to visit the graves of our greatest generation because you don’t want to offend the Germans but make time to visit a mosque in Turkey. You offended our dead and every veteran when you give the Germans more respect than the people who saved the German people from themselves. What’s the matter with you?

I find it amazing that you talk about offending the dead and our veterans when you yourself protest at the funerals of dead soldiers coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan, holding up sign that say “God hates Fags” and “God hates our soldiers” because you say that every dead soldier is God’s punishment for allowing homosexuals to live anywhere, let alone in the home of the brave. I find it amazing that you are paying more attention to the splinter in President Obama’s eye than the plank in your own when you talk about veterans, whom President Bush screwed with their pants on by cutting their benefits during a time of war and thereby making conditions nearly unbearable for their families that were struggling to survive here at home. You have no business passing judgement on President Obama when President Bush, with the help of every Republican in Congress, used, abused and disposed of our brave men and women in uniform who deserved better treatment then they received from their Government. The Vietnam Veterans may have been spit on by Liberal Democrats in the 70′s, but Neo-Conservative, Right-Wing, Christian Fundamentalist Republicans pulled down their pants and defecated on the graves and hospital beds of our veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. And you want to give him grief about visiting a mosque in Turkey when we need the support of the Muslim world to go after Al-Queda, the Taliban and Bin Laden and prevent World War III?!?

What’s the matter with you?!?

I am convinced that you and the members of your administration have the historical and intellectual depth of a mud puddle and should be ashamed of yourselves, all of you.

As compared to the historical and intellectual depth of a compost heap that you and your ilk seem to have?

You are so self-righteously offended by the big bankers and the American automobile manufacturers yet do nothing about the real thieves in this situation, Mr. Dodd, Mr. Frank, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelic, the Fannie Mae bonuses, and the Freddie Mac bonuses. What do you intend to do about them? Anything? I seriously doubt it.

Riiiiight, President Obama is offended by GM, Ford and Chrysler when you are the ones bitching about the UAW and how much auto workers in Detroit make. You make up some ridiculous figure to make it seem like auto-workers should be ashamed to support their families during a time when they could lose their jobs and not only imperil their own families, but imperil the families of those who supply the auto industry with parts.  The fact that you’ve said that Fannie and Freddie are thieves and conveniently left out the crooks at AIG, Bank of America and all those other institutions that took our tax money and spent it on a wild weekend in California and The Bahamas makes me think that you yourself profited from the bank bailout. So, how’s life on the $50million jet treating ya? Are ya enjoying watching us peasants “eat cake?”

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members – on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven’t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t!

No you’re right you didn’t authorize that – the Republican members of the House under the Bush Administration did that. Another fact that you’ve conveniently let slip what’s left of your mind!

Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that’s $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million – not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.

I just love how you take something that happened under the Bush Administration and just turn it around and try to convince all of us who know better that this is all Obama’s fault! Why stop there? Why not try to blame Bill Clinton for this while you’re at it? Or Jimmy Carter? Or LBJ? Hell while you’re at it, why don’t you try to blame President Kennedy, Harry Truman and the guy who taught 6th grade Social Studies to Franklin Delano Roosevelt when he was a kid? And how come when it is Freddie and Fannie paying out these undeserved, ungodly sums of money they’re called bonuses, but when AIG does the same thing you suddenly find religion and start calling them “retention awards” even though they failed to retain anybody at the company since the executives who got those bonuses proceeded to take the money and run!?!

I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise you that I will work tirelessly to see that you do not get a chance to spend two terms destroying my beautiful country.

Well if you resent the fact that he, and by extension the rest of America, thinks that you are brain-dead perhaps it would help your cause if you would stop acting as if you were brain-dead. We are aware that you are watching his every move as evidenced by the quantity of teabags that you fling around. Keep in mind that while you are watching him, thanks to the efforts of President Bush and the telecommunications companies cooperating with spying on American citizens – we will be watching you. And I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities.

Oh, and just to be clear – in case that last sentence was a threat against the life of the President of the United States, which by law is an act of treason – the Secret Service investigates all threats against the President. Don’t look now, but I think your mailman is more than a little interested in that package you are receiving, and that black sedan at the end of the block has been just sitting there for the last couple of days…I’m just saying.

Sincerely,

Every Real American

P.S. I rarely ask that emails be ‘passed around’………….PLEASE SEND THIS TO YOUR EMAIL LIST……it’s past time for all Americans to wake up!

Well as Americans we did wake up. We woke up on the morning of January 21st from a long, national nightmare that brought us a just war that was unfinished, an unjust war that might never end, a nation’s enemy safely tucked away for use as a fear-mongering, propaganda tool, a military which has been battered and beaten by the very political party that professes to love it, an economy in shambles and millions upon millions of families in fear that they might not have a place to call home or food to eat by the next evening. Not that any of that matters to the author of this letter, who seems to me to be a very embittered and cowardly individual. You can read the bitterness throughout this tome, but you can tell that this person is a coward simply by the fact that they were too ashamed to sign their real name to the bottom of this manifesto.

Now what I did throughout the letter was used the letter-writers same inflammatory tactics against him – or her. I turned all of his/her arguments around on them in an effort to show that unfair accusations, and what seems to be partisan propaganda can cut both ways.

I also did it to show just how much of a waste of time all of this crap actually is! That’s my point, and here’s that payoff I was talking about…

We are on the brink of a Second Great Depression, millions of families are afraid for their homes, millions of employees are afraid for their jobs, millions more unemployed and underutilized workers cannot get jobs right now – and this putz wants to waste our time with this partisan piece of pulp?!? We have more important things to worry about right now then this temper tantrum from some loser who doesn’t even know the history of their own country!!! This is why nobody takes the “Tea Parties” and the “teabaggers” who attended them seriously. This is why Arlen Specter is switching parties!! This is nothing more than a distraction from the important task of getting our economy going again so that good people can go out and secure jobs for themselves so that they may provide for their families.

Why the hell are you trying to waste our time with this infantile dribble when there is work to be done, and why aren’t you out there doing it yourself? Partisan crap like this is nothing more than a distraction from the things that really matter to people in our positions! You know, the people who are looking for jobs so we can feed our families?!? Remember back when Phil Graham said that we were in a “mental recession” and that we were a “nation of whiners?” Well I think I finally know who he was talking about – he was talking about the unsigned author of this letter. Whoever this is has decided that it’s more important to fall on the floor and pitch a fit like a 6-year-old who can’t get a toy at Wal-Mart than it is to act like a grown-up and either get to work or put people back to work so things can get better. Instead, “Baby Heuy” actually wants to make things worse and divide the country even further, because some people are only happy when everyone else is unhappy.

Memo to “Baby Heuy”: go stand in the corner until you learn how to behave! I don’t want to hear another word out of you until you learn how to act like an adult!! I’ve already wasted 2,936 words on you becuase of your insolence, and I don’t want to have to send you to bed without supper!!! You will stand in that corner until I feel that you have learned your lesson!!!!

In the meantime, we adults will continue to do the work that this country needs to have done. We will repair the economy, we will employ people who live in this country so that they may have the means to support their families, we will support our automotive industry, we will support our deserving troops with our care packages, with out tax dollars and with a shoulder to lean on when they come home, we will fight the good fight against totalitarianism in Pakistan and bring back the head of Osama Bin Laden, we will ensure liberty and justice for all who wish it no matter what political affiliation, we will stand against those who would destroy good people and good systems of government simply because they are not running the show, and lastly- we will accept more than one point of view no matter if it is a difference of religious beliefs, political beliefs or social beliefs because that is the only way we can live as a free society. We know that to stamp out or deny one belief system is to endanger them all. To silence the Democrat sets precedent towards silencing the Republican. To deny the Muslin establishes a pattern for denying the Christian.

“Change has come to America.”

Now grow up!

Sincerely,

BigDaddyCool and the unemployed/underutilized workers of the United States of America.

Very well done! I enjoyed this immensly!! Thanks BDC.

Apparently, this person obviously speaks for himself. As an American, as a wife of a Veteran, I have my own opinions, and this man/ woman does not speak for me. Granted, I was Republician. At one point. When President Obama entered office and started head first, strong, and dedicated to what he promised, and he did what he said he would do in the beginning, my views changed. While there was a lot he has taken on from previous party drudgery, he has been dedicated to helping the People out one way or other. Although, I am not a big fan of bailing out the banks, car company CEOs, it is vital for this economy to get back on it’s feet. We cannot help, anymore than the President could, predict some companies in the bailout would advantage of the money that was meant to be put back into their businesses, and was infact, given out as bonuses. Live and learn. For the most part, the President is trying. He isn’t sitting back and making judgement decisions like previous parties. He is trying to recoup what damage was done, trying to make binding committments to other countries, handle the bailout situations, credit card rates, foreclosures, healthcare, industries going under and trying his best to create ego friendly jobs, etc. etc..
It is not the writing of this letter that concerns me, really. His views are strictly his own. His one sided opinions are slightly tipped, and he doesn’t seem to want to be open to opinions others than his own. I believe in giving anyone a chance, and Obama has proven to me he is doing his best in getting this economy back on it’s feet. It won’t happen over night, maybe not even next year but it just might during his Administration. So the annoymous writer of this letter, I bid farewell. Until I am convinced otherwise, until I know for sure he is speaking for all, he is silenced to his views and one sided squawking.

Thanks Mom of Three, I actually had a good time writing it if only to show that those one-sided comments and over-the-top-generalization can go both ways.

  4. BigDaddyCool says:

Oh yeah, this person absolutly speaks for themselves! I found it interesting that this e-mail came across our path on the day that Specter switched parties. I guess this is a prime example of what he was talking about when he said that the GOP had become so polarized.

Now yeah, whoever this is has the right to express their opinion just as we do. They need to understand that not everyone is going to agree with them however, and they need to hope that some wise-ass like myself is not going to get ahold of their opinions and disect them…slooooooowly.

And like you said, no one could have predicted that the banks would have had a wild weekend in Cancun with our bailout money, but yeah – live and learn.

I just wish that if instead of cursing the darkness for the lack of a candle they would just pull themselves off of the floor, dust themselves off and show us that work ethic that that one women illustrates in that photo up above and help get the economy going again. Maybe instead of faulting someone who is unemployed for not having a work ethic they should just go out of their way to provide us with an opportunity to show our own work ethic instead of throwing boxes of Tea Bags onto the White House lawn and making the Secret service go apeshit.

  5. Karol says:

Which, you forgot to add, was childish, immature and totally rediculous. Instead of griping about the taxes, and whatever else they choose to complain about, they need to get off their behinds and come up with solutions for the job market. It is fierce competion out there and we all have to work to live. I would show them I am more than capable of handling a job, and my work ethics are exceptional, if given the chance. However, the economy is hurting and so are so many people because of lack of work. I would really like to see it turn around soon but with the teabagging and then people shooting their mouths like the letter writer, it isn’t easy to forget that some have work, others don’t and those of us unemployed are still wishful thinking until the market picks up.
