Scam Alert: Domain Names
Thursday, February 12, 2009 16:23 0 CommentsSo basically we trust these techie guys and we give them access to our domain name by either letting them register it for us or by giving them access to our accounts at places like GoDaddy and Network Solutions. They in turn change the ownership information, and now they control your domain name. Typically they write you a letter or call you and state that for X amount of money they will give it back to you. This amount can be anything between
$1 and $9,999. I’ve personally seen it as low as $500 and as high as $9,000.
